My Experience of Parking at Mumbai Airport T2: A Mixed Bag

During a recent trip, I decided to park at Mumbai Airport T2, having previously had a smooth experience at T1. Unlike T1, which offers both premium open-air parking and multi-level car parking (MLCP) about 200 meters away, T2 parking is entirely within an MLCP building in front of the terminal, offering premium, normal, and valet options.

Pre-Booking and Entry Experience

We pre-booked a slot for seven days, paying ₹2,700 for normal or premium parking, while valet cost slightly more at ₹2,850. The confirmation email clearly instructed which lanes to enter and warned not to use Fastag lanes, as deductions wouldn’t be refunded automatically.

At the parking entrance, however, every lane had a Fastag reader, and the lanes labeled “Pre-booking entry” were not the ones listed for premium parking. Unlike T1, where the QR code is scanned at entry and exit, the attendant at T2 asked us to enter without scanning, creating some confusion.

Parking Layout and Tips

Inside the MLCP, signage for premium parking is minimal, and most floors are occupied by fleet cabs. Reddit users recommend Level 9 for less congestion. The MLCP has two lifts at opposite ends, so it’s important to park near the elevator you plan to use for entering and exiting the terminal.

Exit and QR Code Issue

At exit, I faced challenges with the QR code scanning. The attendant insisted I just wait at the barrier, despite my concerns that Fastag could be charged automatically. After explaining firmly, he scanned the QR code, and the barrier lifted without issue.

Overall Experience

Aside from the entry and QR scanning confusion, the parking facility itself is safe and hassle-free. Administrators could improve clarity in pre-booking and Fastag handling, but the location and security make it a reliable choice for travelers.
